Dr. Oliver Ladendorf was born in 1970 and studied biology at the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich and the Universidad de Concepción, Chile, obtaining a diploma degree in molecular biology and genetics in 1998.
He subsequently worked at the University of Marburg and the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology and received his doctorate in 2003 for a thesis in the field of fungal molecular biology.
Between 2003 and 2008, Dr. Ladendorf was trained in the field of intellectual property with the IP law firm of Vossius & Partner in Munich. In 2008 Dr. Ladendorf qualified as European Patent Attorney and has in the meantime represented several clients before the EPO in opposition, as well as appeal proceedings.
In the same year Dr. Ladendorf moved from Vossius & Partner to the boutique IP-law firm of Maiwald Patentanwalts GmbH in Munich. During his time at Maiwald he enrolled at the Fernuniversität Hagen for a basal law training and qualified as German patent attorney and European Trademark and Design Attorney in 2012.
In May 2014 Dr. Ladendorf joined Kraus and Weisert, a medium-size IP-boutique in Munich. He took over responsibility in the biotech department of the firm and became a partner in May 2015.
Dr. Ladendorf completed a course of law studies with the degree of LL.B. in 2015.
His main practice areas focus on German and international intellectual property law, patent prosecution and litigation, particularly relating to molecular biology, plant biology, biochemistry, microbiology, DNA-inventions, stem cell and antibody inventions, pharmacology, bioinformatics, virology or food technology.
Dr. Oliver Ladendorf speaks German, English and Spanish. He is admitted to the European Patent Office, the German Patent Office and the OHIM in Alicante, Spain.
Dr. Ladendorf is a member of the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (epi), of the Patentanwaltskammer (German Patent Attorneys’ Association), of VPP (German Association of Intellectual Property Experts), of GRUR (German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property) and of LES international. Dr. Ladendorf is a global fellow of the Federal Circuit Bar Association (FCBA).
